Welcome to Dayton, Kentucky’s  First Presbyterian Church!  We are glad you found us.  Here at DFPC you will find a worshipping community that is small enough in numbers to give you the personalized attention that you deserve, yet big enough in faith and heart to help you grow in your faith journey.  This 162 year old church community is ready and willing to love all who enter its doors.  Worship on Sunday mornings is at 10:45 through Memorial Day and then at 10:15 in the summer months.  Adult Sunday school is offered at 9:30 in the Sanctuary.

At First Presbyterian Church, we maintain strong ties with the community and our members are active in the schools, community events and in city government.  First Presbyterian Church is truly a home away from home for all who worship with us.  We are a family who rejoices with one another in good times and prays for one another in our struggles.  So come, give us a try on Sunday morning, or for one of our special gatherings and let us welcome you home.

With God’s Grace,

Rev. Holly

Announcements/Upcoming Events:

The church had its initial worship service in 1849 in a building known as the "Old Meeting House" which was located on Third Street in Jamestown (now Dayton). After two years of worship, the church was organized on March 2, 1851.

By 1880, the church had moved to its present location, one block south of KY Rt. 8 at 800 Ervin Terrace. Our newest church building held its first service on November 30, 1958.

The first ordained minister, Dr. John N. Ervin, holds the world record on his length of ministry at First Presbyterian from 1879 to 1944.

After over 160 years of ministry to Northern Kentucky, the church continues to honor the Lord as a Worshiping, Caring and Serving Church.

April 17— Maundy Thursday

We will be worshipping and celebrating the Lord’s Supper at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.

April 18—Good Friday

Join us as we walk from the Dayton monument to the Bellevue Vets.  The walk will start at 4:00pm.  We will return to the church for a fellowship supper and then gather at 7:15 for worship.  This year our worship service will take us on a journey through Holy Week - from Palm Sunday to Easter using secular and contemporary Christian music - all ages are welcome.  If you would like to participate by reading or singing let Rev. Holly know via e-mail.  All neighboring churches are welcome to attend this Holy day with us.  Please RSVP at 859-916-5587 or text to 513-405-8884 or email: so we know how many people to expect.  Of course walk ups will not be turned away.

April 20—Easter Sunday

Easter morning: Worship is at 10:45.  Please bring a live flower per person to lay at the foot of the cross.

Lenten MissionAt DFPC our Lenten mission has been to collect 40 new stuffed animals (suitable for ages 3 and up and with tags on) for the children who are grieving or are having surgery at Bethesda North Hospital.  This will augment the work of the patient representatives and volunteers in the Emergency Department - making furry friends accessible to patients and family in all units of the hospital.  Questions?  Ask Rev. Holly

Food Drive: DFPC is making a difference in the community.  Challenged to bring in non perishable food items for every point scored by one of the two superbowl teams brought in 417 pounds of food for the Dayton - Bellevue area food pantries.  Great job!
