Welcome to Dayton, Kentucky’s  First Presbyterian Church!  We are glad you found us.  Here at DFPC you will find a worshipping community that is small enough in numbers to give you the personalized attention that you deserve, yet big enough in faith and heart to help you grow in your faith journey.  This 162 year old church community is ready and willing to love all who enter its doors.  Worship on Sunday mornings is at 10:45 through Memorial Day and then at 10:15 in the summer months.  Adult Sunday school is offered at 9:30 in the Sanctuary.

At First Presbyterian Church, we maintain strong ties with the community and our members are active in the schools, community events and in city government.  First Presbyterian Church is truly a home away from home for all who worship with us.  We are a family who rejoices with one another in good times and prays for one another in our struggles.  So come, give us a try on Sunday morning, or for one of our special gatherings and let us welcome you home.

With God’s Grace,

Announcements/Upcoming Events:

The church had its initial worship service in 1849 in a building known as the "Old Meeting House" which was located on Third Street in Jamestown (now Dayton). After two years of worship, the church was organized on March 2, 1851.

By 1880, the church had moved to its present location, one block south of KY Rt. 8 at 800 Ervin Terrace. Our newest church building held its first service on November 30, 1958.

The first ordained minister, Dr. John N. Ervin, holds the world record on his length of ministry at First Presbyterian from 1879 to 1944.

After over 160 years of ministry to Northern Kentucky, the church continues to honor the Lord as a Worshiping, Caring and Serving Church.

April 2— Maundy Thursday Worship with communion will be April 2, 2015 at 7:30pm.  This somber service reminds us of Christ’s sacrificial love for all.  Please join us, all are welcome!

April 3—Good Friday

Good Friday serves as a reminder that even though Christ's death on the cross was tragic, God's forgiveness and never ending love is truly good news! Join us for our prayer walk through the Dayton streets - leaving the church at 4:30pm. At 6:00 we will be gathering for a pot luck supper in Fellowship Hall. At 7:17 we journey to the sanctuary where we will experience Holy Week from the triumphal entry, to the cross, and on to Easter. This service uses music of different genres - theatrical, contemporary Christian and secular- is appropriate for children, and like God's love is open to all.
